Unfortunately just less than a week after the actor's demise, Marlyn, Israel's wife, passed away.
As a result, the wake of the veteran actor was extended together with his wife and they were cremated together.

On the other hand, the veteran actor's long time friend, Robin Padilla, who he worked with on various movies expressed his disappointment on "Medical marijuana oppression".
He said Dick has asked for relief with medical marijuana and felt sorry for not providing him with what he asked because it is still illegal in the Philippines.
“I really thought this government is already educated enough to legalize medical marijuana, “Hypocrites are still under the banner of Big pharmaceutical companies.", Robin Padilla wrote.
On his post, he also pushes for the legalization of medical marijuana and asked Congress to revive House Bill 180 "Philippine Compassionate Medical Cannabis Bill", which was discussed by the previous administration.
As a solid supporter of Duterte, he too stands with the president's support to the legalization of medical cannabis as an ingredient for medicine.
